Gareth Jones from Glasson Hotel and Country Club was one of 20 owners and senior managers in the Irish tourism sector to recently graduate from the Fáilte Ireland executive management programme which is designed in conjunction with Cornell University, USA. The graduation ceremony which took place in Trinity College Dublin honoured participants from across the tourism sector including representatives from hotels, restaurants, and other tourism activities/attractions. The programme was based on a study of a range of job-related topics covering strategy, marketing, finance, management, and operations.

The ISPCC website features the heartbreaking story of Holly (15). After months of suffering at the hands of bullies at school and on a social networking site she plucked up the courage to contact the Childline One to One instant messaging service and admit that she was finding it hard to cope. Holly had her hair pulled and her lunch taken. She was being threatened and called names. Worst of all she was feeling isolated, scared and lonely as her former friends no longer talked to her.

Have you been bullied?

A new televison series is to highlight bullying among young people, and is seeking those who have experience of bullying in an attempt to help them share and relinquish their anxieties. The three part series is due to be broadcast in March 2012 and renowned clinical psychologist David Coleman wants to offer his expertise and therapeutic support to a number of young people who have been affected by bullying, either as a victim or as a bully.
